Ponderosa California is located in the central high Sierras east of Porterville in the California San Joaquin valley at an elevation of 7,200 feet. It is located near the summit of the Tule River in the Sequoia National Forest. It borders the east side of the Great Western Divide Highway and is in one of the most beautiful mountain subdivisions located in the high Sierras. The area is well studded with all varieties of fir and pine trees, especially the Ponderosa pine, for which the subdivision was named. There is easy access from Highway 190 and it is a short drive to the Tule River, Dome Rock, and the Kern River, with miles of trails and streams found only in the Sequoia National Forest.
